Auto/Intelligent Tuner Pre-set
ATP (Automatic Tuner Pre-set) automatically stores all available channels. ITP (Intelligent Tuner Pre-set) additionally sorts the
stored channels into a logical order with channel name and VideoPlus number. Further the time is set and corrected automatically by ITR.
Auto Longplay
If the timer recording is set in standard play
mode and there isn't enough tape left, tape speed is automatically changed to longplay mode to record all of the program.

Sony interface for data exchange for controlling video equipment

Dynamic Signal Filter (DSF)
A special filter technique during
playback improves picture sharpness (picture detail amplification) and reduces picture edge noise (contrast grain). In combination with TriLogic, optimum picture quality can be obtained.

EPG-Download
EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) Download is an easy timer

Flying Erase Head
Rotating erase head which is
positioned on the video head disc and erases the tape according to the picture while recording. The Flying Erase Head is standard in Video 8 and Video Hi8 systems. High quality VHS recorders also make use of
the Flying Erase Head. As a result, recorders provided with this feature are ideally suited for video insert editing.
High Speed Mechanism
The High Speed Mechanism developed by Sony ensures extremely
fast access times for the different drive functions as well as shortest fast forward and rewind time. The position of the tape can be controlled at any time by a look at the counter. By reducing the cut-off
angle in the tape guide, the tape material is clearly more carefully handled. A double-bearing mounted drive shaft of the capstan motor ensures precision tape guidance even in reverse replay.

Index Search permits marked points on the tape to be found as required.
LANC Remote
Local Application Control Bus. Switchable control function for the Control L-data format on the home video recorders
for Synchro Edit operation in conjunction with a player.
Long Play (LP)
Cutting the tape transport speed by half to double the recording time of cassettes. The Long Play function ensures
excellent tape utilisation for timer recordings in particular.
NTSC Playback
This facility allows video cassettes recorded in the NTSC (National Television Standards Committee) system e.g. from the USA, to
be played back via a compatible PAL TV.
Program Assemble Edit
Up to 12 (SLV-E100) shots can be reprogrammed and edited together as with an editing computer or controller.
RC Time Code (RCTC)
Rewriteable Consumer Time Code: Automatic numbering of single pictures when they are being taken. It can also be used in retrospect as a code for previously recorded 8mm and Hi8 videos. A helpful,
supporting function for frame accurate editing.
Set Tuner Control
This feature allows your VCR to control your satellite receiver in case of a timer programming. The VCR automatically switches on your
satellite receiver and switches to the right channel. With the wired infrared transmitter you can place your satellite receiver at any place you want.
Video Plus +™
A simple way of programming the
timer. The number codes printed in different newspapers for the programmes are input as required. This code incorporates date, starting and finishing times of the programme.
SmartLink
SmartLink offers you the following features:
Automatic pre-set exchange between your TV set and your VCR. During the first set-up of your VCR, the pre-set memory of the TV set is downloaded automatically into your VCR's memory. This spares
you any sorting, labelling or adding the VideoPlus guide channel. After that your VCR's channels are programmed in the same order as your TV set's.
What you see is what you record - simple recording of the
programme you are actually watching just by pushing the record button.
One touch play - every time you play back a tape, the TV is automatically switched on and the corresponding input of the TV set is selected.
Auto standby - when you switch off your TV, your VCR is also switched into standby mode.
One Touch VideoPlus/Menu - when you push the VideoPlus or the Menu button on your VCR's remote control, the TV is
automatically switched on and the line input is selected to display the VideoPlus or Menu screen on your TV.
Note: SmartLink only works with TV sets with SmartLink or AV Link function.
Synchro Tuner Pre-set (STP)
STP automatically stores all available channels and allows you to store your VCR channels in the same order as on your TV.
Synchro Edit
For co-ordinated starting of player and recorder. Both
appliances are started simultaneously by pressing one key. Pressing the Synchro Edit key again stops the recording.
TriLogic/-Plus/Super TriLogic
Automatic measuring of videotapes for recording and
playback. Measurement takes just 2.5 seconds, resulting in automatic correction of noise reduction and frequency response. It operates with all types of VHS tapes, and significantly increases the operation
life of the videoheads, as well as providing a brighter image, sharper picture and stronger colours. TriLogic Plus once again improves picture quality with finer adjustment of playback parameters and a new noise
canceller. With Super TriLogic even your Long Play recordings will be played back in optimum picture quality.
PDC
Control signal broadcast by some TV stations. Allows the timer recording of a TV
programme exactly at its beginning, even if it should be delayed for any reason.
